Planting growing in Panama

Growing own food

Panama has an amazing climate and a great soil to grow different types of good vegetables and fruits. There are a lot of tropical local foods that come from the grown, so we have join the locals when it comes to plant during the winter season (the raining season). We are currently growing papayas, green peppers, pumpkins, tomatoes and melons.

Saboga is rich in palm trees, and we love cooking coconut rice. The island is full of mango trees, so we are mastering cooking with them, we have done creps with mango, mango rice, mango cake, fish with mango. We can’t wait to keep experimenting with it and to try to preserve it for the summer season, maybe drying it or making jam, also freezing it.
